Jack & his Journey from Shelter Dog to Foster Big Brother
On Sunday, April 22, Jack and I will be participating in a run for an awesome cause...Houston Humane Society’s 37th Annual K-9 Fun Run & Walk!
This year is important to Jack and I because we have spent the past 6 months fostering a chihuahua mommy and her two puppies, a tough family that survived Hurricane Harvey. They all got adopted and I give credit to Jack, the best big brother who helped the puppies learn important life lessons like:
- Don't leave your toys lying around because they become Jack's toys
- Running around the backyard is liberating
- Most importantly, if you stand close enough to a human with food, they will take pity on you and give you some. Cue the sad eyes.
Your donation benefits the numerous programs at Houston Humane Society, a private, non-profit animal shelter that receives no local, state, or federal government money.
I'm getting involved in the Fun Run because I want to support one of our local animal shelters. Jack came from a shelter as did his pup-sis, Belle. Please help me by supporting this wonderful cause! To make a donation on Jack's behalf and help us reach our fundraising goals, please click on the "Support Me" button to the right. To join us in our efforts and run/walk on April 22nd, click on "Join Me."
And, please cheer us on at the K-9 Fun Run & Walk. There will be a post race party in the park for all participants with vendor booths, food & drinks, doggy costume contest, HHS alumni parade, and more. This event is not to be missed!
Thanks for your support.
